With the arrival of spring, we experienced a severe weather event on April 15th that knocked out commercial electrical power at the 147.390+ repeater in Gray, LA for a week or so. During this event, the club implemented the option to back up the emergency battery bank there with two solar panels to keep our primary repeater site in operation for a potentially protracted duration after a severe weather event like a hurricane. The work is presently on hold while we wait for building repairs to be completed which occurred due to this same storm.

The repeater committee also conducted a much overdue maintenance inspection at the 147.330+ repeater located at Chabert Ochsner Hospital in Houma. This visit had not been performed at all in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
