With the arrival of spring, we experienced a severe weather event on April 15th that…
The Thibodaux Amateur Radio Club has tentative plans for a combination outdoor “Cookout/Special Event Station/Junk-in-the-Trunk” social meeting on Bayou Blue in Houma, Louisiana, on April 18th, 2015 at the QTH of KG5FCB and KG5FLD.
Plans are to do a portable station under a 20X20 tent, perhaps registering with the ARRL as a Special Event Station, also with the possible participation of local Boy Scouts.
All sorts of food will be available. We will have Emile’s Famous Cajun Outdoor Fried Chicken, Fancis’s Famous Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya, and hamburgers, hot dogs, and soda pops.
Also, any hams wishing to sell or swap new/used/old equipment are welcome to bring their stuff to the event.
Entry fee is $5 per person to help fundraise for our ham club. The General Public interested in amateur radio are welcome as well.
Anyone that has a camper, let us know if you would like to bring it down for this event.
NOTE: Special consideration should be given to landowners Emile and Sharnell to keep their property free from litter.
If this social event is conducted on Bayou Blue on Saturday, April 18th, we are cancelling the normal social event scheduled on Monday, April 20th.
Join us at our next business meeting the first Monday in February to keep abreast of latest developments.
