There are three topics covered in this update:
The Thibodaux Amateur Radio Club is currently in the process of reviewing our Club Equipment Inventory. To date we have evaluated our 5KW Onan Diesel Generator and determined that since it has only minor engine problems, it will probably be worth repairing and keeping in the Club Equipment Inventory.
We offered our active club members the opportunity to bid on purchasing several items no longer needed in this inventory. Bids are due April 5th, 2018. After that point, the unsold items will be offered to the general public. These items will be advertised on W5YL.orgSWAMP SWAP page as well as being offered via email using outside popular amateur radio email lists.
To date our club has 45 active primary members and 4 active family members, for a total of 49 active members. We hope this trend continues as we expand our Technician Class training opportunities to the bayou region.
Also, we offer opportunities for license upgrades on the first Monday of each month at the Terrebonne Parish Library North Branch, in Gray, LA, at 6:45PM. Consult the CALENDAR OF EVENTS and LICENSE TESTINGtabs on the W5YL.org website for further details.
Monday, March 19th, we will have our March Dinner Social at El Paso Mexican Grill , 602 N Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA 70301,at 6:30PM. Enjoy some good food, fun, and friendship this Monday in Thibodaux!
We are also looking into scheduling a Fox Hunt (transmitter hunt) sometime in the very near future. The details of this event will be posted on our club website page, W5YL.org, as well as our Facebook page, and our Twitter page. It will also be sent to our email list.
