Q1 2020 Update: for Thibodaux Amateur Radio Club/Bayou Region Amateur Radio Society

Q1 of 2020 actually began in December 2019 with the announcement of our TARC/BRARS 2019 Ham of the Year award.

The presentation of this coveted award was made at the Christmas Party in 2019 at the Plantation Inn in Houma, LA. The award was presented to a ham who consistently filled gaps in our club’s project needs and demonstrated a forward-looking forecast for ham radio for our region as well as providing needed radio support to radio nets. John Hartley, KB7ZMD, of Gibson, LA won the honor by overwhelming  club vote, then also went on to win the Office of Public Relations Officers for TARC/BRARS at the December Business Meeting. Our Congrats to John!!!

Our organization participated in the 2020 Winter Field Day which was held at the Coteau Fire Department Station #2 at 1930 Coteau Road, Houma, LA on January 23, 2020. This successful event was performed that was incident and accident free, plus a good time was had by ALL!!

Our objectives going into the Second Quarter of 2020 are (1) to provide back up for emergency preparedness as required by Federal, State, Local Agencies, and (2) provide a healthy financial network to effectively continue our mission as support for Southeast Louisiana,
