With the arrival of spring, we experienced a severe weather event on April 15th that…
Field Day 2015 for our club was conducted from 1300 CST June 27, 2015, through 1300 CST June 28, 2015, in Houma, Louisiana, at the Terrebonne Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
It was a success as we had a great time in fellowship, conducted an ARRL VE Tesing Session( we now have one new Technician licensee, an upgrade to General, and an upgrade to Extra), we had lots of great food (BBQ chicken, potato salad, baked beans, hamburgers, hot dogs, and last but not least, Mr. Francis’ [WD5CFM] world renown chicken and sausage jambalaya), and we made many contacts on the bands.
We were class 2F since we operated at the Terrebonne EOC with two transmitters, one on data and one on voice. We had Mr. Joe Colson (KC5HRT) bring in his newly purchased second hand TV Remote Van that took our Force-12 multi-band beam up 53 feet high on its telescoping boom.
We had lots of fun, good food(thanks ALSO go to the KG5FLD and KG5FCB team for their tireless efforts and gracious contribution to the menu), we learned a lot, and last but not least, it was a safe experience with no one getting injured.
We were visited by Michel Claudet, Terrebonne Parish President, and Earl Eues, Director of TOHSEP.
Thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to this wonderful event!
